A backstage role in the call room. Fascinating to be behind the scenes working with the ‘officials’. Busy days checking start lists, handing out results to officials, checking computer lists against paper lists. I did have a few ‘Hi-di-Hi’ aka Gladys Pue moments when having to put calls out over the tannoy for missing or late athletes to the call room!

Having followed athletics for many years it was good to see the ‘old guard’ (Lynford Christie, Darren Campbell, John Regis and Jenny Meadows mentoring and coaching the current athletes.
