A Blast From The Past

It’s been a few years since I was at University but oh my, this takes me back! WIth hotel and air BnB accommodation at premium prices, The Glasgow Universities opened up their halls and allowed volunteers to book their hall of residence. Not a lot has changed over the last 30 years! A room, with a bed and a desk. A few upgrades, the luxury of an en-suit, a dishwasher in the communal kitchen and a washing machine!.

Home for a Week

The Merchant City

My halls are in ‘The Merchant City’.

Built starting in the 1750s as Glasgow’s first planned New Town for wealthy tobacco, tea, and sugar merchants.

Revitalized in the 1980s from neglected warehouses into a stylish urban residential and cultural hub.
Home to cultural venues like Tron Theatre, Sharmanka Kinetic Theatre, and the Glasgow Police Museum.

WHat’s in The Bag of SWAG?

Time to check in an collect Accreditation and Uniform. Some navigation required to find the accreditation centre. What would we do without Google Maps?

Check out my reel here for what’s in the bag of SWAG?

That’s all for now, back later!

  1. I don’t know if you will get my other message Mel. It is amazing to see behind some of the scenes with you and understand some of the complexities of putting on an event like this. Well done you for playing your part. Joan xx
